ZMMA were selected by the Mill’s Trust to act as architects and lead consultants for the internal and external conservation, refurbishment and extension of Grade 2* listed gallery buildings. This ACE and NLHF funded project includes improved access and the introduction of new services throughout the archaeologically and ecologically sensitive site.
The scheme provides a new light, open, contemporary building, distinct from the historic Mill’s solidity but constructed from traditional materials such as oak shakes and weather-boarding as well as board-marked concrete referencing the historic structure.
