Orleans House Gallery

This NLHF supported project comprises Exhibition and Interpretation Design for Orleans House, Twickenham, and focuses on preserving and making accessible the House’s significant heritage assets, from interpreting the Grade 1 listed James Gibbs’ Baroque Octagon building and its landscape, to the London Borough of Richmond’s Art collection – a richly eclectic mix of art and artefacts.

This is, notably, a ‘local’ project, with community involvement for example in the management of the precious landscape. Local users and volunteers are key, and we worked to interpret elements such as the landscape in ways that enhance access and enjoyment to these users, as well as reaching under-represented groups and creating accessible and life-enhancing programmes and projects for a range of audiences.
